At Norris Bank we are very proud of our healthy and delicious school meals. These are cooked freshly on site daily in our two kitchens. All our meals are prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients.
Our kitchen staff from TLC are experienced at catering for a range of special dietary requirements including gluten free and diabetes. If your child has a special dietary requirement, please let us know.
If your child will be changing to packed lunches or to school dinners from September, we ask you to inform the office before the end of the summer term. Thereafter we ask you to give one week’s notice to the office, of any changes.
Reception / Years 1 & 2
All children in KS 1 are entitled to a free school meal under Universal Free School Meals, however if you are entitled to benefits you may also be entitled to free school milk.
Towards the end of the summer term, parents of children in year 2 will be sent a letter asking whether their child will be having a school dinner in Year 3 or if you intend to send them with a packed lunch from home. This letter will also point out the criteria for being eligible for a free school meal and the process for applying. Please do not ignore this letter as we advise you to make any applications to Stockport Free school meals service as soon as possible and certainly prior to the start of the Autumn term in order to avoid having to pay for your child’s dinners.
Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
Once your child moves up to KS2 in Year 3 their entitlement to a Universal Free school meal ends and unless your child is entitled to a Free school meal, you will have to pay for school dinners. The current cost (Jan 2020) is £2.15 per day, payable in advance.
Please see below for an example of our school dinner menu.
